Top GF finds in Milwaukee

Milwaukee’s food scene is buzzing, and as someone who needs to eat gluten-free, I can tell you it’s a haven for us! Whether you’re a local or just visiting, exploring the best gluten-free spots in the city is an adventure you shouldn’t miss. Here are some of my favorite gluten-free places I visited in Milwaukee, which were so good!

1. SweetDiner

SweetDiner is a gem for those seeking gluten-free treats in Milwaukee. It was in the historic Third Ward, and if you’re going with a big group, I highly recommend reservations. Since I was traveling solo, I was able to immediately get in and sit at the bar. They have a very extensive gluten-free menu with so many delicious options! I got their specialty apple and cinnamon pancakes, which were so good! The portions are so big I got most of it to go. This is a must-try!

2. Milwaukee Public Market

This is an obvious choice since the Milwaukee Public Market has something for everyone, but they have so many gluten-free options. I went to The Green Kitchen, where they specialize in gluten-free and health-conscious food. I ordered a sandwich, and they were extremely careful with cross-contamination, even toasting my sandwich in another panini machine. But one of the best things is that I ordered one sandwich and go TWO!! If you eat gluten-free, you know how amazing that is since our sandwich bread is so small. Outside of The Green Kitchen, there are so many other options at the Public Market! Make sure you grab some fresh cheese curds too!

3. Cheese Curds

Speaking of cheese curds, Milwaukee is renowned for its cheese culture, and many establishments offer gluten-free versions of this iconic snack. Whether you prefer them battered and fried or squeaky fresh, you’ll find plenty of options to indulge in cheese curds galore while exploring the city. I did have a hard time finding gluten-free battered and fried cheese curds, but the real ones were just as good!
