Tips for Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris is one of the best Disney parks I’ve ever visited! When I went in the middle of July, the lines were short, the weather was great, and it was very easy to do the full park in one day. Disneyland Paris has two parks: Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney Studios Park. I got a park hopper ticket to go back and forth between them.

Here’s my tips and tricks for my full day at Disneyland Paris

  • Before you get to Disneyland Paris: Download the Disneyland Paris app. This will be extremely helpful once you’re at the park. You can even link your tickets to the app.
  • If you’re going for only 1 day and want to see both parks: (yes, it is possible), You should get there as soon as the doors open and spend about 5 hours at Magic Kingdom and the rest of the time at Walt Disney Studios, since the lines are longer.
  • Getting there: One of the easiest ways to get from Paris to Disneyland Paris is on the train. You’ll want to take the RER Train and purchase a round-trip ticket to Zone 5 (Only Disneyland Paris is in Zone 5). The cost is around 8 Euros per way. A normal Paris ticket will only go to Zone 4, and if you only buy to Zone 5 you will get charged for being in the wrong zone when you get off the train at Disneyland Paris. You’ll want to Take the RER Line A (Red Line) toward “Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy.”
  • When you get to the park:
    • Look at the app for wait times for rides and you can also use the GPS function to help you take the best walking route to each ride
    • Go to City Hall and get a personalized button to wear all day! You just need to go up to the counter and tell them you’re celebrating your first time in Disneyland Paris.
    • Walk down Main Street
    • Take photos of the castle to avoid crowds later in the day.
      • The coolest thing about Disneyland Paris’s Cinderella castle is it’s the only castle with a dragon under, so make sure you see it to the left of the castle behind the bushes!
    • Go to some of the biggest rides in Magic Kingdom first, such as Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean.
    • Stop and watch a parade
    • Go to smaller rides such as It’s a Small World and Peter Pan’s Flights
    • Look for characters and stand in line to take a photo and get an autograph
    • After around 5 hours at Magic Kingdom, head to Walt Disney Studios
    • The big rides at Walt Disney Studios with some of the longest lines are Ratatouille: The Adventure, Crush’s Coaster, Haunted Mansion, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (formerly known as Rock N Roller Coaster). These are the best thrill rides and are worth waiting in line for.
    • First, your night back on Main Street for Souviners and fireworks by the castle
  • Unlike some other Disney parks, Disneyland Paris often has shorter lines, and FastPasses is not as essential. You can even buy a fast pass for specific rides if the line is long.

As mentioned, I could do both parks in 1 full day and even sat down and ate lunch. I didn’t make it to any shows and stood in line for one character photo. I was able to ride every big ride in the park, though.
