Milwaukee, also known as Brew City, is buzzing with vibrant attractions waiting to be discovered! I was very surprised with how clean Milwaukee was and how safe I felt walking around. Downtown is super walkable and the Historic Third Ward can not be missed! Whether you’re a local looking for new adventures or a visitor eager to explore, here are some top things to do in Milwaukee that you won’t want to miss.
1. Milwaukee Public Market
This is a must – start your journey at the Milwaukee Public Market! I went here multiple times during my visit, both for a delightful lunch and a sweet treat later in the day. The Public Market is conveniently located right downtown, making it easily accessible for both locals and visitors alike. What makes it so special is the incredible variety it offers. From artisanal cheeses (you must get the cheese curds) and freshly baked bread to gourmet sandwiches, sushi, and decadent desserts, there’s something to satisfy every craving. Plus, the busy environment adds to the charm, making it a perfect spot to immerse yourself in Milwaukee’s vibrant food scene while enjoying a meal with friends or family.

2. National Bobblehead Museum
Who knew there was a National Bobblehead Museum? Experience the whimsical world of bobbleheads at the National Bobblehead Museum. Marvel at THOUSANDS of bobbleheads representing sports legends, pop culture icons, and historical figures. They even have a fun hide-and-seek game you can play for a free prize! I would recommend staying here for about an hour to see all the bobbleheads and have time to play the game.
3. Walk Downtown and see the Fonz Statue
As I mentioned earlier, downtown Milwaukee is so easy to walk around! They have a great river you can walk over or walk down to. You can also see so much history in Milwaukee with some of the old buildings. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a photo with the iconic Fonz statue, a tribute to the beloved character from “Happy Days,” which has become a symbol of the city’s charm, which is right on the riverwalk.

4. The Third Ward
This was one of my favorite places in Milwaukee! The Third Ward had cobblestone streets leading to galleries, boutiques, and cafes. They had some of the cutest souvenir shops and were very busy with locals! I spent a lot of time in this area since there’s so much to see and very cute places to eat. If you have a big party, I would recommend having lunch in this area, but make sure you have reservations in advance!
5. Harley-Davidson Museum
I’m not a motorcycle girlie, but I had to go to the Harley-Davidson Museum since I was in Milwaukee. I definitely stood out a little bit, but it was so cool to see the history of motorcycles and the history of such an iconic American brand. The museum was interactive and had vintage motorcycles you could take pictures with. If you’re looking to fill some time with a unique experience, this is it, even if you’re not a motorcycle fan.
